Youngstown - Shirley Plevniak, 64, of Youngstown passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Shirley was born February 1, 1961 in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Minnie (Bagley) Stanley and was the baby girl of twelve siblings and was affectionately known to her family as “Brat.” Feisty and fierce—some might say stubborn—she carried a spirited personality and contagious energy, with a deep love for dancing and singing. She was the kind of woman who always had gum in her purse for the kids and a presence that filled a room.
Known for her compassion and dedication, Shirley cared for others as if they were family, whether at home or at work. Throughout her life, she endured profound hardship, including the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Autumn, and ongoing health challenges, meeting each with grit, resolve, and her unmistakable b.a.m.f. attitude. She lived life on her own terms, with intensity and conviction, and was unapologetically herself.
She is survived by Chris Plevniak, with whom she made her home; her son, Christopher Plevniak, and his wife, Janell; four grandchildren, her siblings and many others.
Shirley will be remembered for her unyielding spirit, her familiar perfume, her love of music, and the lasting impression she left on all who knew her.
Per Shirley request there will be no services at this time and a caring cremation will take place.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.
