Campbell – Louis Porfilio, 85, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026.
Louis was born on July 19, 1940 to devoted parents Ralph and Mary (Demain) Porfilio as the third of four children raised in Youngstown. Lou graduated in 1958 from East High school and enlisted into the US Army where he was stationed in France. After his service, Lou returned to the Mahoning Valley where he began his career as a machinist working for Wean United and then later for Warren Fabrication where he built turbine and generator housing for the electrical utility industry.
Lou married his childhood sweetheart Gloria Jean (Tamburrini) Porfilio in 1963. They spent 53 years together and raised their family in Campbell, Ohio. Lou was known for his loyalty, strength of character and being a devoted husband, father and friend. His closest friends enjoyed spending time with ‘Louie’ as he always shared his contagious smile and delightful sense of humor. Lou enjoyed his wife’s delicious cooking, attending classic car shows, watching Steelers football and just getting together for a coffee to shoot the breeze. Lou always shared proud stories about his grandchildren.
He leaves his son Ralph Porfilio and daughter Marla (Robert) Kouche, along with grandchildren Ryan Kouche, Brianna Porfilio and Allyson Kouche. In addition, he is survived by his cherished sister Merceda (Albert) Yurcisin, sisters-in-law Madeline West and Sally Porfilio and many nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his wife Jean Porfilio, sister Angela (Edward) Lewis, brother Robert Porfilio, brother-in-law Rev Joseph Tamburrini.
Lou will be missed by all, including many friends spanning his entire life.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Lou on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. Boardman.
There will be a prayer service at 10:00 am on Monday at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw J.C.L.,V.G. as celebrant.
Private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
