John Prusak Obituary

Boardman - John (Jack) Prusak, 66, of Boardman, entered the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while surrounded by his loving family on the morning of Monday, February 19, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown.

Jack was born March 16, 1957 in Youngstown the son of John and Rosemary Prusak. He graduated from Austintown Fitch High School. Upon graduation, he became employed at Fazio Grocery Store. He later was hired at Copperweld Steel Company (CSC), first in production and then as a millwright. After the closing of the mill, he worked as a millwright for the Duferco Farrell Corporation which transferred to NLMK Pennsylvania.

Jack met the love of his life, Karen in 1985 and they have been inseparable ever since. They later married and began their family. They shared such a special love and bond…and the two shall become one. They never went to bed without saying I love you.

He also loved the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed golfing, painting and drawing pictures, and working in the yard – there was nothing that Jack could not fix or do. Jack and Karen enjoyed taking long car rides to take in the scenic views while listening to gospel music and sharing many life stories along the way. He loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach and The Gulf of Mexico in Florida, and every moment he spent with his family. He loved his children with all his heart, but his greatest title was Papa to his two grandsons, Lucky and Sonny, and he was so proud of them.

Jack was the head of our family and he led us with love. He was our protector, our provider, our home, our world and we will love him through eternity. You taught us all how to be a better person and brought us so close to Father God. Our only comfort comes from knowing that we will see him again in heaven and that he is in our hearts forever.

Jack loved the Lord, he loved reading his bible, listening to gospel music, praying for family and friends and telling others how great God is. He was a member of Bridge of Hope Church.

Jack leaves his wife, Karen; his children Brianna (Michael) Santoro of Campbell, Olivia (Jake Dogoda) Prusak of Boardman, and John (Stacey Kovacic) Prusak of Canfield; grandsons Luciano and Santino Santoro; sister Cindy (Pete) DiCenzo and brother Frank (Jyll) Prusak; mother-in-law Maureen Jones; brother-in-law Donald Jones; sister-in-law Colleen (Raymond) Lopez and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his best friend Paul (Lorrie) Shoaff. He will also leave his neighbor and friend, Phil (MaryAnn) Landers, who he enjoyed spending time at the fence talking to. His furry buddy Lily who never left his side will greatly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosemary, his sweet daughter, Elaine Prusak, his father-in-law, Donald Jones, and a precious grandchild which God called home before we got to meet, who we know he will be taking care of until we are all called home.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.

There will be addition calling hours held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 10:00 am until 10:50 am at Bridge of Hope Church, 7580 Glenwood Ave., Boardman followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Miller as celebrant.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.

The Prusak family would like to thank the Neurology ICU staff and doctors at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown for the exceptional and compassionate care he received.

A special bible verse encompassing both John’s name and his birthday March 16th:

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
